The polishing process of Head

Nowadays, there are more and more demand for stainless steel heads on the market, and the head’s quality are also getting higher and higher. Of course, the polishing process of the heads will also affect the quality of the products. We are very strict to the requirements for the head polishing process.

What is the polishing process of the head? Here is a brief introduction as below:

  1. Coarse polishing is to grind amd polish the surface of the head with a hard wheel, so rough polishing is also called grinding or polishing. It is mainly used to remove burrs, scratches, rust marks, scales, blisters, air bubbles, weld nuggets, welding slag and various macro defects on the surface of parts to improve surface smoothness and reduce surface roughness.

  2. Medium polishing is to further process the rough polished surface with a harder polishing wheel. It can remove the scratches left during the rough polishing and produce a smooth to medium shiny surface. The roughness of its surface is between a few microns and a few microns.

  3. Fine polishing is the last process of head polishing. It is a method of processing the surface of the parts with a soft wheel coated with polishing paste. Because it is carried out on a relatively flat surface, it can further reduce the roughness of the surface to achieve the purpose of micro-leveling, so that a very bright surface can be obtained, and there is no obvious wear on the substrate when the head is polished. The surface roughness can reach about 0.01μm, which can really achieve the mirror surface brightness.
